Another successful Careers Fair organised by Mrs Laing. We had a total of 33 attendees, which were made up of 7 post 16 and post 18 higher education establishments, 4 apprenticeship providers, and 22 businesses. Out of the 22 businesses, 16 had an apprenticeship/ trainee scheme.
It is important that every student can engage with real life employers and colleges. For the older year groups, it gives them an opportunity to see first-hand what options there are available to them for post 16, so they can choose their path, and talk to the employers and training providers first-hand about applications, and criteria needed to apply.
For the younger students, the fair is a way for them to start to explore the world of work, and what kind of careers and jobs are available to them. By talking to several different employers, this can help to build their confidence, and encourages engagement and interest in the different career options available to them.
Students had a fantastic time and got lots of information. Attendees said they enjoyed engaging with the students who asked lots of questions.
